While looking at the dtg website, I noticed that they are providing an rss feed for the download schedule.
Because of this, I'm considering not bothering to fix this feed, and shutting it down.
If anyone actually uses my feed here and has a comment or opinion, please drop me an line.
The feed is not currently working.
The DTG website updated it's look and feel on 16th March and as a result, the feed robot no longer understands the page.
This is not to suggest that the DTG shouldn't have updated their website. It's simply to say that I haven't yet got round to fixing the robot.
I hope to get it done by the end of the weekend.
The robot has been working very smoothly for a long time now.
So smoothly that I didn't notice two new manufacturers come online.
Philips had some updates this year, the first from Philips since the robot started. There is now a filter for Philips updates.
TechnoTrend updates have been labelled as Technotrend recently, and the robot was case-sensitive. I have compensated for that and manufacturer names should now be matched insensitively.
I toyed with the idea of making the robot create new categories automatically, but because new manufacturers are quite a rare occurence, I didn't think it was necessary. Perhaps I was wrong.
I've managed to hack up something to get round the bad coding on the DTG page.
I'll let the feed run through a couple of changes before I'll feel confident that it is is now stable. We'll have to see.
